Experimental and Computational Micro-Characterization Techniques in Wood Mechanics

Scientific Programme

Final programme

The scientific programme comprises

  • four keynote lectures of distinguished colleagues (40 min. incl. discussion)
  • oral presentations (20 min. incl. discussion), and
  • poster presentations (3 min.).

No parallel sessions.

Keynote Lectures:

Ingo BURGERT (Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Germany): "Wood micromechanics - actual state and perspectives"

Callum HILL (Napier University, UK): "The interaction of the cell wall of modified wood with water vapour"

Karim MAZEAU (Centre de Recherches sur les Macromolécules Végétales, France): "Atomic-scale interaction features between the plant cell wall polymers"

Lennart SALMEN (STFI-Packforsk, Sweden): "The cell wall microstructure - where do we stand and what is needed?"

Information for poster presentations:

Poster presentations are allocated 3 mins. oral presentation. Authors are asked to really stick to this time! We have prepared a template for the poster presentations (ppt-file). The template contrains three pages: first page - title page with presentation and details on authors, no content is allowed on that page; second&third page - free for the presentation.

For ensuring a smooth move from one to the other presentation, we kindly ask all authors of poster presentations to provide us with their presentation by Wednesday, May 6, at the latest. We will then combine all poster presentations into one pdf-file for presentation.

The maximum size of your poster should be 940 x 1800 mm (width x height). In the programme you will find a number indicating both the page on which your abstract can be found and the number of your poster for presentation.
